May 8, 2007: On Tuesday May 8th, 2007 the University of Ottawa announced that Ian Telfer will make the largest individual donation in the history of the school. This donation is also the largest individual gift ever presented to a Canadian business school. In Ian’s honour the Universtiy of Ottawa Dean revealed that the new business school would be renamed the ‘Telfer School of Management’. Goldcorp is also proud to contribute a gift of $7.5 million over the years 2006 – 2010 in support of the management education program.

Goldcorp’s recent donation to the University of Toronto is recognized in their Department of Civil Engineering newsletter.  Goldcorp’s donation (a naming opportunity) will go towards the creation of the ‘Goldcorp Innovation Suite’ in the Mining Building; part of the Lassonde Institute.
